4. Type 2 Fun
‘Feel the fear and do it anyway!’
We have been on our annual family camping holiday which is jammed packed of what we call ‘Type 2 Fun’ activities like learning to ski, mountain biking and jumping into beautiful, freezing cold water. ‘Type 2 Fun’ experiences are often not fun at the time especially when you are learning but fun afterwards. The type of experiences that are challenging, scary and you have to dig deep to do them, but once you have completed them you get a great feeling of satisfaction and achievement. ‘Type 2 Fun’ are what memories are made of and often make the best stories compared to ‘Type 1 Fun’ which are those instant gratification experiences that you know you are going to enjoy in the moment but probably won’t last long term.
What is something that you have done that was really hard at the time and you had to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’ and afterwards you felt really chuffed and proud of yourself?
What ‘Type 2 Fun’ experiences do you have planned for the future?
