Three Good Things

This weeks wellbeing wisdom for the ‘Live Up To You’ 2020 project is to ‘wallow in the wonderful’. What are the little bits of wonderful in your life? What are the little bits of love and goodness that happen to you on a daily basis but often go unnoticed?

For this week at the end of day, write down or share with family and friends three good things that you noticed. As you write or share these experiences let yourself ‘wallow in the wonderful’ and really re-live and enjoy the good things that happened in your day. This helps our brains focus on the good stuff rather than the bad stuff. Our brains don’t need any help focusing on negative things it’s literally wired for negativity which is an evolutionary hangover to help us survive (link to Greater Good Science Website to learn more about the ‘negativity bias ). However, we can learn to take more of the good into our brains by promoting and strengthening our positive emotions which literally over time rewires us for better wellbeing.

So go ahead ‘wallow in the wonderful’.
