In response to COVID-19 the ‘Live Up’ COVID COMMUNITY was set up to support our communities with practical wellbeing resources that can be used for these extraordinary circumstances of social distancing, community lockdown and quarantine. This THINK strategy is quite handy for maintaining positive relationships and is often used in schools You may like to try it and see how it works for you. Before you speak or post on social media use this THINK acronym. Ask yourself these questions.

Is it TRUE?

Is it HELPFUL?

Is it INSPIRING?

Is it NECESSARY?

Is it KIND?

Learning how to pause when you have an intense emotional reaction before you act and say something that you might regret is one of the most valuable and life-changing skills a person can have. The pause allows you to respond rather than react, it creates a little space. By using this strategy you get to THINK first and consider the impact of your words on the person receiving those words. For me this is a work in progress but it gives me something to aim for!
